I began painting in second grade when I took oil painting lessons from a wonderfully talented nun in Catholic school. Since then, my life and work have always been centered around the arts. I graduated from college with a fine arts degree and have studied art history extensively. For many years I was a full time potter but for the past year I have returned to painting. I now create playful, vibrant and imaginative compositions that exuberantly express the vitality of life. I loosely base my images on reality but by choosing contrasting colors and energetic forms I hope to express optimism and a light hearted humor in my work.
