James Cole has practiced and enjoyed photography for over 40 years. Combined with the digital revolution in cameras and software, and the good fortune to have traveled to over 80 countries, he has developed a photographic art style (called "Photage") which produces very unusual, colorful and interesting pieces.

Photage is the layering of digital images, enhanced by various treatments to the different layers, to achieve abstract or contemporary-like final result. Combining images from very different places and or themes results in the striking results.

James' work has been displayed in Southern California and at Reader's Cove in Fort Collins. He is a member of the Art on Mountain Fine Art Gallery. His piece, Gates of Time, won first place in the mixed media division of the 2007 Larimer County Fair.
